HWY 413 NEEDS A FULL ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT!

Right now, the federal Impact Assessment Agency (IAA) is examining the proposed Highway 413.

Once the Ontario government submits an Initial Project Description, the IAA will decide if Highway 413 needs an impact assessment, and if it does, if it needs a full or partial one. Let's demand a full impact assessment from our federal representatives!

Highway 413 will put our climate goals out of reach.

Highway 413 is a threat to farmland and the greenbelt.

Highway 413 is a threat to endangered species.

The current provincial government is trying to exempt Highway 413 and future highways from provincial environmental assessments1 and can't be trusted to adequately address the environmental impacts of this mega-highway. It's time for the federal government to step in!

Tell Minister Guilbeault and your local Federal MP that Highway 413 needs a full impact assessment!

Your letter will be sent to the Minister of the Environment and your local MP.

1. The Ontario Government proposed to exempt Highway 413 from completing an Environmental Assessment before commencing construction. Ontario has also proposed to exempt all highways less than 75 kilometres from provincial Environmental Assessments.
