THE TIME IS NOW FOR A CLEAN CAR STANDARD - TELL THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT TO STAND UP TO AUTOMAKERS

In Canada, 8 out of 10 new car sales are highly polluting SUVs and trucks.

These gas guzzlers are the auto industry's "cash cows", making car companies rich at the expense of a sustainable future.

The federal government needs to stand up to the greedy auto industry and follow through with their promise to ban the sale of gasoline cars by 2035, while fining car companies that aren’t shifting their business towards electric vehicles (EVs).

Big car companies should be held responsible for the pollution created by their products. A strong Clean Car Standard would make them pay for their pollution and reinvest their huge profits into a greater supply of electric vehicles at lower prices. Car makers should help pay for the transition to EVs instead of leaving the burden to Canadian taxpayers.

The time is now for the federal government to implement a Clean Car Standard. Help us call for affordable EVs and strong regulations.

Your message will be sent to Minister of Environment and Climate Change, Steven Guilbeault.
