TELL THE ONTARIO GOVERNMENT TO ABANDON BILL 165 AND UPHOLD THE OEB’S DECISION.

Next week, the provincial government will pass legislation allowing Enbridge to subsidize gas hookups in new developments and pass the bill to existing customers – like you

In December, the Ontario Energy Board, an independent authority that works to keep energy costs down, decided that gas hookups don’t make sense anymore because it is often cheaper for new homes to install a heat pump.

This decision panicked Enbridge and they complained to the Ontario government. Unfortunately for Ontarians, Premier Ford once again sided with big business and sprawl developers. If passed, Bill 165 will overrule the Ontario Energy Board’s plan to keep gas bills from rising too fast!

We won the Greenbelt fight by pressuring MPPs all across the province until the Premier could no longer manage the grumbling in his own caucus. If enough people contact their MPP and express their concern, the Ontario Government will have to rethink this atrocious decision too!

Don’t let Premier Ford force you to subsidize fossil fuel expansion during an affordability crisis! This bill is about saving Enbridge money, not about helping homeowners. Tell the Ontario Government to abandon Bill 165 and uphold the OEB’s decision.

Your letter will be sent to Premier Doug Ford, Provincial Energy Minister Todd Smith, and your Member of Provincial Parliament.
