LAKE ERIE CAN'T AFFORD MORE DELAYS. IT'S TIME TO ACT NOW!

Lake Erie is a global treasure. It provides drinking water for millions of people and supports both a multi-million dollar economy and a truly remarkable ecosystem. The surrounding area is home to nearly 2.7 million Canadians, as well as countless birds, mammals, and fish.

This is all at risk.

Every year, toxic algal blooms threaten the health of the lake. They clog drinking water intake pipes, kill fish, and devastate ecosystems. Yet, despite commitments to address the pollution that feeds the blooms, government action has stalled.

Sign-on to urge the federal and provincial governments to take action that reduces the pollution entering the lake by:

  • working with farmers to reduce nutrient runoff, a leading cause of algal blooms
  • strengthening protections for wetlands that help filter and purify our waters

Lake Erie – and the wildlife and communities that depend on it – can’t wait any longer. We need political leadership now, to restore and protect our waters.
