We Can Build More Homes AND Stop Sprawl!

Building more mid-rise housing in existing neighbourhoods is the best way to end our housing shortage AND protect Ontario’s farms, forests and wetlands. Unfortunately, zoning rules, complex approvals, outdated building codes and excessive fees often make it impossible to build mid-rise housing where it is needed most.

All levels of government need to work together to make it cheaper and faster to build mid-rise housing by:

  • Allowing 6-story apartment buildings on all major streets in Ontario
  • Creating clear rules to allow faster approvals
  • Allowing exposed timber construction and single egress stairways
  • Removing parking minimums and “step-back” requirements for mid-rise buildings
  • Lowering upfront fees for mid-rise housing
  • Streamlining financing and approvals for small builders

Send a letter to key elected officials in support of more mid-rise housing!

Your letter will be sent to key elected officials in the federal and provincial governments based on your postal code.
