METRO VANCOUVER: SPEAK UP FOR PUBLIC TRANSIT!

Right now, Metro Vancouver’s public transit system is at risk! Without immediate action, we could see devastating service cuts—bus routes slashed in half, SkyTrain service reduced by a third, and hundreds of thousands of people losing access to reliable public transit. This crisis affects everyone. If transit service is cut, traffic congestion will get worse, commutes will take longer, and transportation costs will rise as more people are forced to rely on cars. At a time when affordability and climate action are top priorities, we can’t allow public transit to collapse.

Protecting public transit is more important than ever. Recent US economic threats could make it even harder for Canadian families to afford essentials, including transportation. That’s why BC should be investing in affordable, climate-friendly transportation - not cutting it.

Transit service in the area hasn’t increased significantly since 2020, yet the population of the region has increased by 20 percent. This has resulted in severe overcrowding on the system, especially in more affordable neighbourhoods where transit is needed the most. If we want to attract people to transit, we can’t have full buses continue to leave them behind. We just need the BC government to step up and commit to funding public transit!

Tell Premier David Eby and your MLA to protect public transit and fund Metro Vancouver’s future!

Your message will be sent to Premier David Eby; Minister of Transportation and Transit, Mike Farnworth; Minister of Infrastructure, Bowinn Ma; Parliamentary Secretary for Transit, George Anderson; and your MLA
