CANADA: WE NEED STRONG CLIMATE ACTION, NOW
Canada is in a climate crisis. We need strong climate action and a government that prioritizes the health and economic well-being of Canadians over the interests of the oil and gas industry.
For decades, oil and gas companies have profited from pollution that is damaging our air, land and water, all while directly accelerating the climate crisis. Fossil fuels are the main cause of climate change, fueling more frequent and intense wildfires, heat waves, and floods, which worsen every year. At the same time, these companies are driving up the cost of living for Canadians across the country while lobbying hard to block climate action.
Canada cannot meet its climate commitments without cutting oil and gas pollution. We cannot afford more delays or weak rules that let oil and gas companies off the hook. But the new federal government is facing relentless pressure from oil and gas companies to roll back on climate policies that we have been pushing for decades.
Tell the Canadian government to stand up to the oil and gas industry and finalize the oil and gas emissions cap and end all fossil fuel subsidies, without exception.
This is a pivotal time for Canada - we need to invest in clean energy and electrification to tackle climate change as well as protect our economic and energy security. The federal government has the power to put Canada on a path to a healthier, more resilient and more equitable future. We can’t let Big Oil take us down the wrong path.
As someone who cares about our future, your voice is needed now more than ever. Urge the federal government to stand up to Big Oil and put Canadians and the planet first.
