TELL PREMIER FORD: Reject American Gas, Invest in Affordable Renewable Energy!

Ontario is increasing the use of gas for electricity generation and locking in more homes to gas heating. As a result, greenhouse gas emissions and energy bills are rising.

Communities around the world, including in countries with the same cold climate as ours, like Switzerland and Norway, are moving away from gas and turning to renewable sources of energy to generate electricity. Meanwhile, Ontario lags behind by increasing our reliance on toxic fossil fuels. To make matters worse, most of the gas used in Ontario is imported from the United States. For security, economic and environmental reasons, Ontario needs to get off gas.

Instead, Ontario could meet its growing energy demand using renewable energy like wind, solar, and battery storage. Renewables are now the cheapest source of electricity.

There is an upcoming opportunity to submit projects for new electricity generation in Ontario, but the government is putting up barriers to make it harder for renewable energy projects to compete.

Tell Premier Doug Ford and Energy Minister Stephen Lecce to keep electricity costs down by investing in renewable energy!

Your message will be sent to your Members of Provincial Parliament, the Premier of Ontario, Hon. Doug Ford, as well as the Ontario Ministry of Energy and Mines, Hon. Stephen Lecce.
