URGE THUNDER BAY CITY COUNCIL TO VOTE NO TO A NEW GAS PLANT

On October 28th, Thunder Bay City Council will vote on whether to support the development of a new gas plant at the intersection of Central Ave. and Maureen St.

This project would put our health at risk, increase our energy bills and accelerate climate change. A new fossil gas power plant isn’t what the community needs.

Not only do gas plants provide electricity at double the cost of renewable battery storage, but they also lock us into relying on imported American fossil fuels. There are cheaper, cleaner alternatives like battery storage, wind and solar which we should develop here instead.

Tell councillors that this project is a bad idea for Thunder Bay’s health and environment - and a huge waste of money.

Your message will be sent to Thunder Bay's Growth Standing Committee, the Mayor and council members
