TELL THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT: FUND CLEAN POWER, NOT FOSSIL FUELS
Oil and gas companies are making massive profits every year, while continuing to fuel the worsening climate crisis. Yet the federal government is poised to provide billions in public dollars to liquefied natural gas (LNG) projects, pipelines, and other fossil fuel infrastructure through subsidies, tax breaks, and financing. That’s money that should be spent building clean electricity, strengthening healthcare, and addressing the housing crisis, while lowering energy bills and costs for Canadians.
At a time of tight budgets, every dollar counts. The federal government has long promised to end fossil fuel subsidies. If the government is serious about building a stronger Canada, it must invest in real, lasting solutions, such as helping households switch to clean energy and building a grid powered by low-cost renewable energy.
Real nation-building means putting people first and powering our future with clean, affordable and secure energy, not doubling down on LNG and fossil fuel infrastructure that locks in risk and pollution.
Canadians expect better. Tell the federal government to end subsidies for pipelines, LNG, and fossil fuel expansion, and invest in a cleaner, more affordable future.
