Transition Talks: Alberta's Clean Energy Future
Monday June 29, 6:00-8:30pm | Sunalta Community Hall | 1627 10 Ave SW, Calgary AB
Alberta's energy transition is both necessary and possible. How can we advance a responsible energy transition that ensures Alberta stays strong and isn't left behind?
Join Environmental Defence, Calgary Climate Hub, For Our Kids Alberta, and local residents and organizers, for a special edition of Transition Talks. This event features presentations and hands-on discussion workshops exploring how our province and communities can support made-in-Alberta renewable energy that boosts the economy and keeps life affordable.
We'll also examine the real price of doubling down on the past - from the revival of coal mining to the billions in oil and gas cleanup costs being passed on to taxpayers - and what's at stake if Alberta misses its moment in the global shift to clean energy happening around us. Presentations and workshops will break down the challenges and opportunities in renewable energy, the risks of staying too dependent on traditional energy industries, and how Albertans can work together to leverage and diversify our industrial strengths and collective advocacy on the path to a clean energy future.
Come ready for learning, discussion, and action!
Doors open and dinner available at 6:00pm, presentations start at 6:30pm
