Community Meeting: How Will Highway 413 Impact Kleinburg Residents

Thursday October 8th,  6:00p.m-8:30p.m | Cornerstone Community Church

Join us at an upcoming Town Hall to discuss how Highway 413 will impact Kleinburg and Vaughan residents.

Come hear from physician and expert Dr.Mili Roy about the impacts of Highway 413 on the physical health of Kleinberg and Vaughan residents, including those most vulnerable.

Not only will Highway 413 take away essential green spaces that residents use and damage the Humber River tributaries that flow through Kleinburg, it will also add millions of tonnes of polluting emissions into the air. This will have devastating impacts on the health of people living in surrounding communities.

Traffic related air pollution has been linked to a plethora of negative health impacts including childhood leukemia, lung cancer and premature death.

In addition to Dr. Roy, you will hear from environmental experts working to stop this harmful highway.

Construction on Highway 413 hasn’t started yet and there’s still time to stop it. This highway would cost tax payers over $14 billion dollars and will actually make traffic worse by inducing more driving and car-dependent sprawl, locking communities into longer commutes and more congestion.

Traffic related air pollution has been linked to a plethora of negative health impacts including childhood leukemia, lung cancer and premature death.

Join us on Thursday, October 8 at 6:00pm at the Cornerstone Community Church to learn more about the harmful impact Highway 413 will have on the health and wellbeing of people living in Vaughan and Kleinburg – specifically our youngest and most vulnerable community members. This is an opportunity for community members to ask questions to experts and get involved in the conversation.

Parking is available and a free dinner will be provided for attendees. We will also have activities and supervision for children available so parents can attend. If you have any questions please reach out to [email protected].
