Tell Canada to ban BPA and other harmful chemicals in receipts

Bisphenol A (or BPA) is a widely used toxic chemical in plastics and food cans. It is linked to hormone related cancers such as prostate and breast cancer, obesity and ADHD in children. Today, most receipts and other thermally printed paper are coated with BPA or a nearly identical chemical known as BPS.

This is especially concerning for cashiers who handle hundreds of receipts on a daily basis. Toxic chemicals aren’t necessary on receipts as safer alternatives exist.

Tell the Canadian government that we need to ban the use of these harmful chemicals in receipts today.
