Canada: Action on Plastic Pollution Can't Wait

Amid the global pandemic, our leaders are working hard to protect Canadians and help stop the spread of COVID-19. Getting Canada on the right track to recovery is without a doubt top priority. At the same time, we can’t lose sight of the very real environmental threats we’ve been fighting since before the recent outbreak.

Last year, the federal government made a commitment to tackle one of those threats: plastic pollution. It proposed to ban certain single-use plastics as early as 2021. This is a step in the right direction. We need to make sure that promise is kept.

There is no time to waste. Plastic pollution is still piling up around us, overwhelming our landfills, choking our waterways and oceans, killing wildlife, and polluting our natural spaces.

Moving Canada toward zero plastic waste is still possible, but we need to keep the pressure on.

Tell the federal government to act now and end plastic pollution.
