Take action: Save Sauble Beach’s Endangered Plovers

Endangered piping plovers on Sauble Beach are once again under threat. The Town of South Bruce Peninsula has applied for a permit to bring heavy equipment onto the beach – as soon as the Canada Day long weekend. The town was found guilty of illegally damaging the sensitive habitat of this extremely rare shore bird on two previous occasions when it bulldozed and mechanically raked the beach.

The Minister of Environment, Hon. Jeff Yurek can deny this permit application. Given the Town’s proven history of destroying the piping plovers’ habitat, issuing them a permit would put these endangered birds at incredible risk. Send a letter to the Minister today.

Send a letter today urging the Minister to protect endangered species and say no to the Town’s permit request
