ONTARIO: STOP THE ATTACK ON NATURE, LOCAL FOOD SUPPLY & MY QUALITY OF LIFE
The Ontario government is proposing to allow destructive quarries and gravel pits in the homes of endangered species, our most vulnerable plants and animals. They are also considering allowing a massive increase in the amount of farmland, forests, and other natural areas that will be converted to sprawling subdivisions, highways and roads claiming that this will help us in the economic recovery from COVID-19.
The recovery from COVID-19 must not be accomplished by destroying the farmland, forests, waterways and our quality of life. Tell the Ontario government to stop granting favours to its developer friends and to start making evidence-based decisions that are good for all citizens, respect the environment and protect farms, forests and natural areas.
The consultation period for revisions to the growth plan closes July 31st. Take part in the consultation by signing the petition, and we’ll send your letter directly to the Environmental Registry of Ontario.
Your letter will go to Doug Ford, Premier of Ontario, Steve Clark, Minister of Municipal Affairs, the Environmental Registry of Ontario, and your local MPP.
