THE OIL LOBBY IS TRYING TO DRAG CANADA DOWN. TIME TO TAKE A STAND.
Canada’s rich and powerful oil lobby, the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers (CAPP), represents all the major players in oil exploration and extraction in Canada. CAPP claims to care about Canadians, but their lobbyists have spared no expense working to stop governments from taking meaningful climate action, avoiding responsibility for their environmental impacts, and even trying to change transparency laws to hide their own lobbying. They can’t be allowed to get away with it.
To protect Canada’s environment and prevent catastrophic climate change, we need to take on the oil lobby.
We need to hit them where it hurts - their members.
Last year Shell Canada paid between $500,000 and $1 million USD to CAPP. If they left it would be a big financial hit to the oil lobbyists, and show them up as the fossil fuel dinosaurs that they are. With enough public pressure we can make Shell dump CAPP - take action now!
Shell claims to be a progressive oil company that supports the goals of the Paris agreement. If that’s even remotely true, they need to cut ties with CAPP.
Stand up to the Oil Lobby - tell Shell to dump CAPP.
