TELL ONTARIO TO PHASE OUT DIRTY FOSSIL GAS - NOT BURN MORE

The climate emergency becomes more evident every day. While governments the world over invest in renewable energy to meet their growing electricity needs, the Ontario government is preparing to burn more gas - a fossil fuel - instead.

Much more gas.

By 2030, greenhouse gas pollution from Ontario’s gas plants will increase by 375 per cent, compared to 2017 levels. By 2040, it will be up more than 600 per cent.

Ontario’s gas plants are already some of the biggest polluters in the province. Now the province is planning to build new gas plants and extend the contracts of many existing ones. If Canada is going to have a hope of reaching zero emissions by 2050, its second largest emitting province needs to phase out dirty fossil gas - not burn more.

TELL ONTARIO TO STOP THE GAS RAMP UP, AND PHASE IT OUT INSTEAD.

Your letter will go to Premier Ford, Minister of Energy Todd Smith, Minister of the Environment David Piccini, and your local MPP.
